What is Common Criteria ?
The Common Criteria is an international accreditation standard designed to facilitate the evaluation of the security levels of information systems, hardware and software. Security evaluation standards were originally implemented in the US and European countries for the protection of military information, but as security for commercial products and systems grew increasingly important, the Common Criteria was consequently developed in October 1998.
